Accessorize Inexpensively

7118-2.JPGa63373b.JPGHave you ever wanted to add a little something extra to your home decor; and what was standing in your way was a shortage in the money department?  Well we’ve got an answer for you!  Unique ideas that will give you the opportunity to accessorize your western home decor without breaking the bank!

Try something as simple as door knobs, drawer pulls, or western shelf brackets that will hold a 10″ to 12″ glass or wooden shelf to showcase your western figurines, or even cookbooks if you put it in your rustic kitchen decor.

You can just move around the accessories you already have.  Maybe from the living area to your bedroom or vice versa.  Change the purpose for what something is used for.  A good example is a magazine rack ~~ rather than have magazines in it move it to your bathroom, roll up extra towels, wash cloths etc. & place them in what “was” your magazine rack.  If you have a western key rack or decorative wall hooks you really like in your entryway, move it into your kitchen to show-off your decorative hot pads or tee towels.

Candle holders come in more shapes, sizes & designs than could possibly be named, and add a sense of elegance to any room you put them in.  Western style metal candle holders are available in rodeo event designs and also the very popular “Lone Star” or “Barn Star” design.  Try several for an especially romantic escapade for you and your cowboy!

Any of these items are an inexpensive way to accessorize, giving you the opportunity to kick-up your western home decor in an inexpensive, yet inviting and welcoming way!

Vegas Online!!

cowhidebarnstar.JPGMan I felt like I just hit the jackpot in Vegas when I found this web-site!  It’s filled with gifts for anyone who loves rodeo or western decor!

I’m going to be able to buy gifts for almost everyone on my Christmas list from this one web-site!  They have so many gifts for under $20.00 it’s unreal.

They’ve also got some really elegant products….my husband’s getting a cowhide covered barn star!  It’s so awesome….he’s going to be the envy of all his friends.  I’m hoping he’ll get me one of the lamps they’ve got!  I’m so excited!

a65096-1.JPGTransform your home decor in a dramatic and exciting way with western metal art!

You can start out in a small and inexpensive way by utilizing decorative shelf brackets.  Now, we’re not talking about your ordinary plain old brackets that the only purpose is to hold a shelf up.  We’re talking about western shelf brackets that tell a story all on their own.  The working cowboy roping a calf, breaking a horse, or maybe it’s a rodeo bronc rider.

Whatever you choose to start with in creating your own western decor, the relaxed inviting aura you create, will be felt by everyone who enters your home.

“Unique Gift Ideas”

People are always trying to come up with something new and different for unique gift ideas.  Something that is old, yet new again, is gift baskets!a79501b.JPG

Whether it’s for your boss, a family member, or your best friend you can’t go wrong with a gift basket.

Your choices are limited only by your imagination.  From an Amish handmade basket filled with goodies for the bath, the kitchen, a bridal shower or a baby shower.  But a gift basket doesn’t have to be in a basket!  For the wine enthusiast, a portable wine rack with a couple of bottles of their favorite bubbly, and a few wine accessories, tied with ribbon is an awesome wine gift basket.

Gift baskets make a perfect hostess gift at any kind of party or even an impromptu get-together!  They give great flexibility to complement any personality.

“In Your Dreams”

texlh.JPGWhen I think of the old west I imagine myself sitting on a big porch looking out over the land, where spring fed creeks meander through the rolling hills and rugged terrain. Plenty of longhorn’s, horses and barns are part of the scene.  My grandkids are also visible ~~ running around barefoot and with their britches rolled up to their knees.  They play in the creek, picking up odd shaped rocks to show their Pop.

Then something happens that breaks the spell ~~ but it’s okay because I’m pretty much living my dream anyway.

All it takes to give your home that wide open, spacious feel, is to decorate with western decor.  Try a Texas Longhorn to celebrate your Alma Mater, the cattle rancher, or just because you love Texas and the longhorn.  It’s as much at home indoors as it is outdoors.  Something as simple as cowhide covered throw pillow’s on your sofa, or a throw rug with scenes from the old west.  Then imagine yourself sitting………….

“Old Time Appeal”

a73513.JPGWhether your wanting to add a more personal touch to your home, office, or even just the entrance to it, it’s a simple matter with western decor.

Your walls in any room can be decorated with metal framed mirrors, metal hook racks, letter or mail holders, and the list goes on.  By your favorite easy chair you might want a western magazine rack, perhaps by your fireplace, or even in your bathroom.  An elegant horseshoe & spur clock on your fireplace mantle, with matching horseshoe & spur bookends on the other end, or on a shelf with decorative western shelf brackets.  Outside the entrance to your home or office you can have a western welome sign and/or a boot scraper that feature many different western scenes.

There are so many different western styles to choose from you can develop any look & design that you want and it will still be western.  Have an eclectic western decor by choosing lots of different motif’s such as horses, spurs, horseshoes, wagon wheels, saddles, barn stars, cowboys and more.  Or, you might want to go with basically one or two particular western themes. Either way you will evoke images of a simpler time and give your home or office the old-time appeal of the wild west!

Are Ya Watchin’?

squirrel11.jpgsquirrel2.jpgWhen I wrote the “Let’s Get Aquanited” post, I don’t beleive I mentioned that we live out in the country ~~ WAAAY out in the country!  One of our favorite pastimes has always been taking pictures whenever we’re out on our “treasure hunts” for new & unique western metal art.

Something that I’ve learned from living out in the country is to always keep your camera close at hand and ready to go.  We’re probably the most amateur of amateur photographers, but just sitting in our living-room looking out floor to ceiling windows we have gotten some really cute pictures.

We have a very simple birdfeeder hanging from a tree just right outside of the window, maybe 3 1/2 ft.  Watching the birds come & go is a joy ~~ but squirrels seem to think it was met for them!  Everytime we see a squirrel headed for the birdfeeder we bang on the window or run out the door and run them off.  Now the squirrels literally check to see if we’re watching them. Here’s my proof!

A Warm Welcome!

welcome-kissing-couple.jpgMetal Art is a must have for those who love & live the western lifestyle ~~ and for those who just dream of it!

The strength & durability of metal art gives you the option of being able to choose whether you want your metal art inside or outdoors and is one of it’s greatest appeals. Though it is durable enough for outside, it is an elegant and tasteful addition to your indoor decor as well.

Welcome your guests to your western decor home even before they enter it, by choosing to display this western welcome sign on your fence, gate, barn or house.

Western metal art will last for decades without bending or breaking.  However, it is subject to rust if outdoors, but if you touch up the paint periodically (every 3 to 5 years) that won’t be a problem either.
