The nickname “The Cowboy Capital of the World” belongs to Bandera, Texas.
The official state sport of Texas is Rodeo.
The state flower is Bluebonnet.
The state bird is the Mockingbird.
The state tree is the Pecan.
The state mammal is the Longhorn.
The state small mammal is the Armadillo.
The state flying mammal is the Mexican Free-tailed Bat.
The state dish is Chili.
The state pepper is the Jalapeno.
